Kollam
Kollam is the second district in Kerala from the south. The population of Kollam district is 2635375 spread over 2491 square kilometers. Kollam is bordered by Thiruvananthapuram to the south, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha to the north, Tamil Nadu to the east, and the Arabian Sea to the west. The main industries of the district are cashew nut processing and rope making. The second tallest lighthouse in India is located at Thankassery in this district. Thenmala, Jatayupara, Paravur, Palaruvi Falls, Punalur, Munrothuruth etc. are the major tourist destinations here.
