Alappuzha

Alappuzha - Nicknamed the Venice of the East, Alappuzha is spread over 1414 square kilometers. Population 2121943.Alappuzha is a coastal district of Kerala.Alappuzha city is rich in beautiful backwaters and canals and Alappuzha is the only district in Kerala without forest. Lord Curzon described Alappuzha as the 'Venice of the East' after seeing the flowing streams and the water traffic through them. Alappuzha is famous for houseboat tourism.
